La stalla in disuso / Der nicht mehr gebrauchte Stall
Curated by Hans-Peter Meier and Susanne Waiz, the exhibition La stalla in disuso / Der nicht mehr gebrauchte Stall (The abandoned stable) investigates the profound transformations of the agricultural landscape in the regions of Vorarlberg, Graubünden and South Tyrol. On the occasion of Merano Arte, the exhibition itinerary was supplemented by projects of rural buildings in South Tyrol and was accompanied by a catalogue. As a contribution to the publication, Lupo Burtscher and Susanne Waiz developed a photo-essay with the photographer Nicolò Degiorgis. Lupo Burtscher is responsible for the exhibition and the catalogue design.
This collection of six monographic essays presents the contradictory image of a land in which the peasant, according to his political mandate, should be both modern, and linked to tradition. Each essay is accompanied by pictures of projects related to stables and barns.
