Euromediterranea 2017

Lupo Burtscher chose a metaphor spanning meteorology and geology for designing Euromediterranea’s printed media: Yellow arrows on a blue background representing different flows or signs, pointing in opposite directions, never following a common line. The arrows also signify a tangle of voices, where what is important is drowned out. The title font is slightly distorted, and on a pale background float papers, documents, remnants. The graphic design becomes a portrayal of the chaotic situation of today’s “migration policy in the European Mediterranean region”.

Since 1999 the Alexander Langer Foundation has set itself the goal of supporting groups and individuals who, through their work, contribute to keeping alive the heritage and ideas of Alexander Langer, as well as continuing his efforts in the fields of civil, cultural and social action. It has been a great pleasure for Lupo Burtscher to contribute to this project.
