Catalogue design for the exhibition
Lo spettro di Malthus

The instability of the relationship between population growth and food production is a central theme, especially today. The exhibition “The Spectrum of Malthus” by Marzia Migliora, curated by Matteo Lucchetti at MAGA – Museo Arte Gallarate, explores the contradictions of the industrialised production models of neoliberal capitalism. The artist’s construction of new imagery is also shown in a magazine that goes beyond the boundaries of the art world and opens up to the general public, as it was published in a special edition distributed with the newspaper Internazionale (October 2020).

Images, collages, Re-print texts and notebook sketches by artist Marzia Migliora have been reinterpreted by Lupo Burtscher through the thin pages of this special publication. The lightness of the paper and the use of lines in different colors guide the reader through the artist’s work and provide an in-depth examination of the themes it is a vehicle for. A publication that, through layering and combining notes, texts and images, becomes a graphic guide for a conscious public.
